February’s concerts 2016
There are only a few concerts this month, because Andrea Motis and Joan Chamorro are very busy rehearsing and preparing next month’s trip to New York, where they’ll be recording a new album for the famous label Impulse.
Anyway, they will be playing 2 concerts at Jamboree, on the 20 and 21, with the quintet and saxophonist Perico Sambeat –two sessions each day, at 20:00 and at 22:00–. Also, on the 26th they’ll play at Teatro Circo, in Murcia, also as a quintet, for the Jazz & Black.

One month before leaving to New York, where they will become the first spanish jazz group to record for the label Impulse! (the one that Coltrane built), Andrea Motis & Joan Chamorro’s quintet offer four unforgettable sessions with saxophonist Perico Sambeat.

Andrea, Perico Sambeat and the Quintet are in great form on “Alone Together” which really swings. Wish I could see the concerts in February but I guess I will have to wait for July/August when we can come on holiday to Spain which we often do. Hope Andrea and the Quintet will be giving several concerts in Barcelona or elsewhere in Spain during this time so we can see as many as possible.
Congratulations on the planned new recording on Impulse and looking forward to the recording being available ASAP. Will it be CD or DVD or both?
